The very first Cantabrian Festival of Circular Economy and Bioeconomy took place in Santander, Spain, from November 28 to December 2. Organised by EIT Climate-KIC, sponsored by the Government of Cantabria and also involving a number of other organisations, the festival aimed to disseminate and promote the creation of circular communities, with a focus on entrepreneurship, innovation, and citizen activation at local level. The festival included training sessions on the circular economy, workshops, and presentations by experts in the field. The last day of the festival included a welcome message, a diploma presentation ceremony for the first graduates of the circular economy course, and statements by representatives of the organisations involved.
Potential environmental impact:
The adoption of circular economy principles, which aim to reduce waste and increase resource efficiency, has the potential to have a significant positive impact on the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and pollution, conserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable development. The aim of the Cantabrian Festival of Circular Economy and Bioeconomy is to raise awareness and promote the adoption of these principles, which could contribute to the creation of a more sustainable and resilient economy in Cantabria.
