Renewable energy sources have the potential to fulfill 90% of the world’s power demand by 2050

Indian Union Power and New & Renewable Energy Minister R K Singh predicts that renewable energy sources could provide 65% of the world’s electricity by 2030 and up to 90% by 2050.

He highlighted that currently, 80% of the global population lives in countries that rely on fossil fuel imports.

Singh emphasized the urgent need for a transition to clean energy, as emphasized at the recent G20 Summit.

He invited member countries and organizations to partner with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) in achieving these goals.

The Co-President of the ISA Assembly praised the organization for its progress in implementing solar energy programs globally.

The Director General of ISA noted the significant growth in clean energy investment, particularly in solar and wind power projects.

However, he highlighted the need for more investment in developing economies, especially in Africa.

The sixth ISA Assembly was attended by ministers from 20 countries and delegates from over 116 member and signatory countries, as well as 18 prospective countries.
