Vodafone Business has introduced the Vodafone Business ESG Navigator, a new software solution designed to assist companies in meeting their sustainability reporting requirements, particularly in line with the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). This solution is developed in collaboration with Munich-based sustainability reporting software provider, Envoria.
Founded in 2018, Envoria offers solutions that help companies meet sustainability reporting requirements, calculate CO2 emissions, implement EU Taxonomy regulations, and address supply chain laws. Envoria is part of the Vodafone UPLIFT program, which partners with innovative startups to create market-ready solutions.
Sven Schubert, CEO and Co-Founder of Envoria, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “Thanks to the partnership with Vodafone Business, we can make our proven ESG software accessible to a wider range of companies, helping them meet increasing sustainability demands. We are confident that the new Vodafone Business ESG Navigator will become an essential tool for sustainable business management for all Vodafone Business customers.”
The CSRD represents a significant expansion of the EU’s previous sustainability reporting framework, the Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD). It broadens the scope of companies required to provide sustainability disclosures from around 12,000 to over 50,000, introducing more detailed reporting requirements on environmental impacts, human rights, social standards, and sustainability-related risks. The CSRD took effect at the beginning of 2024 for large public-interest companies with over 500 employees and will apply to companies with more than 250 employees or €40 million in revenue in 2025, and to listed SMEs in 2026.
The Vodafone Business ESG Navigator offers a central collection point for all ESG-relevant company data, integrating data from various locations and systems for processing and analysis. It enables the creation of legally compliant reports using pre-defined templates. In addition to CSRD compliance, the solution also supports adherence to the EU Taxonomy and the calculation of Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
Manja Gerhardt, Senior Innovation Product Manager at Vodafone, highlighted the importance of sustainability in business, stating, “Sustainability is not just a trend but a necessity for future-proof business models. With the ESG Navigator from Vodafone Business and Envoria, we provide our customers with a powerful solution to pursue their ESG goals and report in compliance with regulations.”
