Formation of a Tri-Nation Green Energy Alliance
Kazakhstan has entered into an agreement with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to spearhead a project aimed at exporting green energy to Europe. This collaboration was announced following a meeting in Baku, focusing on the potential of Central Asian countries to contribute eco-friendly electricity to European markets.
Communiqué and Renewable Energy Potential
At the conclusion of the Baku meeting, energy and economy ministers from the three nations signed a joint communiqué. This document underscores the significant renewable energy resources available in their countries and their collective readiness to engage in green energy export initiatives.
Joint Working Group for Energy Exchange
The meeting set the stage for establishing a joint working group. This team’s mandate includes developing terms of reference for energy exchange cooperation, with a special emphasis on renewable energy sources.
Exploring Green Hydrogen and Green Ammonia
One of the key responsibilities of the working group will be to assess opportunities for the development and exportation of green hydrogen and green ammonia. In addition, they will focus on creating the necessary infrastructure to support these endeavors.
Initiating Feasibility Studies and Joint Ventures
The ministers have agreed to launch a tender process for conducting a preliminary feasibility study based on the technical specifications agreed upon. They are also considering the possibility of forming a joint venture dedicated to the project’s implementation.
Future Meetings and Continued Collaboration
The next meeting among the ministers is scheduled to take place in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. This ongoing collaboration marks a significant step in harnessing Central Asia’s renewable energy potential for European markets, aligning with global efforts to transition to cleaner energy sources.
